Day 3 after she passed. Wish I could start feeling better Very sorry to hear that John I'm not sure what happened....it's the one that had been shot/abused by her previous owner. We had her for 6 and 1/2 years. Like to think we did her well. Lately she became a picky eater and had lost a few LBs but would still eat her food if we put in meat/cheese peanut butter. She started having a slight limp a couple weeks ago that got better with supplements and pain meds. She was able to do really well for about a week after that....drank a lot of water and used the bathroom well |

Tuesday evening my wife came back from the gym and showered, had just took them outside around 4 pm and put em in front room. We let them out to eat at 6 and she comes out dragging her back end unable to move her hind legs/stand at all. She had peed on herself as well. We called the emergency line for the vet and he said maybe steroids in the morning. Just keep her comfortable. Well she kept trying to move, she used the bathroom on herself too. I had some Valium I crushed up and gave her and she calmed down and rested. Gave her another one around 11 pm. She kept having very soft poop on herself. We kept her clean and changed towels around her and got her on her side on a soft bed. Around 230 am she started passing blood in her stool and around 330 she started breathing really fast. About an hour later I noticed her agonally breathing and me and wife knelt over and petted her until she stopped moving.

Dunno why I typed all that but somewhat cathartic. I hope we made her comfortable somewhat as she was dying. We were in the room with her and kept her clean. Would have been worse alone at the vet probably where she had anxiety about going. Glad I had some Valium from my panic attack two years ago
