1 Houston Rockets - Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard SF 6'7'' 225 20 B C+ C B+ C A
Grade: A
Solid inside scoring, jumpshot, handling, quickness, steals, perimeter defense and strength. Mediocre blocks, jumping, and 3PT.
Easily my number 1 pick too. Should have close to 100 pot too. Franchise changer. Good player. This is a wing league now and Kawhi should be a top 5 wing by year 4-5. An A for Marty, Rockets should be able to start their rebuild now, especially with Jason Kidd retiring, especially if he wouldn't be overpaying for a free agent on this free agency class like he usually does. Anyway for this pick it's an A and should have been an easy choice.
2 Indiana Pacers (from Nets) - Kyrie Irving
Kyrie Irving PG 6'2'' 195 19 B- B C C C- A
Grade: A
Elite quickness. Good jumpshot. Good inside scoring, 3 point shot and handling. Mediocre steals and passing.
My second pick too. That Elite Quickness is nice and should boost him over other point guards. This notes is too good lol. Mediocre steals is also okay considering he wasn't known to be a defender in real life. Mediocre passing should be great for his volume too. Would have been my second pick too. After wings, high volume PGs are a necessity in FBB. Royal finally have a franchise player. Will he be worth a 20/13/2 +15 big? Only time will tell, but it's looking promising.
3 Oklahoma City Thunder - Jimmy Butler
Jimmy Butler SG 6'7'' 230 22 B- B- C+ B C A
Good strength and jumpshot. Solid inside scoring. Mediocre 3 point shot, handles and steals. Mediocre passing and quickness.
Grade: B
Let's just say I would have taken Spencer's idol. Was the only player aside from Klay that should have been picked at this range so still gets a B. Klay has two elites, nevertheless, like I said on the top 4 it was Kawhi Kyrie Jimmy Klay anyway. Heatflash is also offering Yao Ming for Jimmy, so it's something that could be monitored. Should be a star/multiple time all star. Will he be better than Paul George? Nice starting ratings but already 22.
4 Milwaukee Bucks - Klay Thompson
Klay Thompson SG 6'6'' 215 21 C A- D+ B C- A
Elite jumpshot and perimter defense. Good handles. Solid quickness. Mediocre inside scoring and steals. Mediocre jumping.
Grade: A
Comparing the notes of Jimmy Buckets and Klay Thompson, I don't see how you'd pick Jimmy Butler over Spencer's idol Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler is better in real life yes, but notes and the Golden State connection should been taken into consideration. Why no mention of three points though? Should be good-esque there. two elites, and good handles(?) is too nice. JR got a good building block.
5 San Antonio Spurs - Marcus Morris
Marcus Morris SF 6'8'' 218 22 B- B- C- B C B
Good jumpshot. Solid inside scoring and strength. Mediocre handles, steals, defensive rebounds and 3 point shot. Poor blocks. If you DRAFT both Morris brothers they each get a +15 potential.
Grade: C+
Grade after +15: B+
To be honest, he wasn't on my draft list for what I have thought at that time as number 8 pick. He's old, and his notes are not that enticing to burden myself in trying to trade for the other one. Mediocre handles and already 22 year old turned me off if I was drafting him alone. Nevertheless, kobe pulled up a draft day trade to get his twin and they both get +15 potential. That should boost his my guess as his pot 65-75 to 80-90 range which will be big. Should be a good player now. But not what I expected to be the non Jimmy-Kyrie-Kawhi-Klay player to be drafted first.
6 Charlotte Hornets - Nikola Vucevic
Nikola Vucevic C 6'10'' 260 21 B- B- C B- B- B
Good strength. Solid inside scoring, jumpshot and post defense. Mediocre blocks, 3point, jumping, handles, offensive and defensive rebounds. Poor steals.
Grade: A-
I expected the Hornets and Uconnfanmike's pick to be Kemba Walker to be honest, on my list it was Kemba and then Vucevic next. I get the rationale, bigs should have more value than PGs. Vucevic looks like an all around big. Starting with B- outside as a big is a nice touch. There isn't much bigs that start with this ratings this version, so he should be a nice player. I'm still not sure how I'll camp him though but I'm leaning towards outside and blocking and let TC handle rebounds, with him having mediocre three point. Should be a better Andrea Bargnani depending if his blocks will develop, but with +9 going there(the only rating I'm sure that I would have camped if I got him), it looks like that especially as his a decent enough rebounder right now. At least this shows he was not trolling with his mock draft.
7 Atlanta Hawks - Jonas Valanciunas
Jonas Valanciunas C 6'11'' 265 20 B C C C+ B B
Grade: B+
Good strength and jumpshot. Solid inside scoring, post defense, offensive rebounding, defensive rebounding. Mediocre block, handles and jumping. Poor steals.
I get it again, bigs should have more value than PGs? Jonas Valanciunas has nice starting ratings. Question is his potential, with this starting rating, Spencer might have given him a lower potential? Idk. Well, he's a traditional big with nice jump shot, which this version of BBS prioritize with GMs camping it over blocking, strength, rebs (See Dwight Howard). Could be a nice player, depending on how his blocks will develop, if any. But with Chipper going ghost the last few seasons, I'm not sure he will, especially with these types of players needing camp early.
8 Portland Trail Blazers - Bismack Biyombo
Bismack Biyombo C 6'8'' 255 19 C D+ D+ B+ C+ B
Grade: B-
Good strength. Solid post defense and blocks. Mediocre offensive and defensive rebounding, jumpshot, inside and handles. Poor steals.
Feels like there are a lot of players on the mold of Bismack Biyombo to take him over Kemba Walker, this shows he was trolling with his mock draft who also had Jimmy Butler as number 1 pick and Kawhi number 4? Uhhh. He had Kemba Walker as the "BPA" at 5 and Biyombo at like 9. But on this draft he took Bismack instead. Should be decent enough at the very least third big. Just feels like you could take players on this mold later on this big heavy draft. I would have definitely picked Kemba over him, plus with him getting 14-15, he would have been able to pick a player on the Biyombo mold later on.
9 Phoenix Suns - Kemba Walker
Kemba Walker PG 6'0'' 184 21 C+ B- C+ C+ C- A
Good jumpshot and quickness. Solid handles. Mediocre inside scoring, 3 point shot and steals.
Grade: A
I'm happy with this, I was really dissapointed that i wasn't able to tank last season and guarantee myself of a top 4 pick this draft, after being number 1 projected in 2011, the team only added Paul George in lieu of Hedo Turkoglu and the team was way better? Had to pivot to get Kevin Durant but still was expecting more Ls, there's a chance that Vucevic and JV might be better than Kemba, but for my happiness, this is the best pick I could get as a Celtics fan boy. Nice player. Well, FBB wise, I would have taken him easier than the next few draft picks, so this is the perfect spot for him.
10 Denver Nuggets - Enes Kanter
Enes Kanter C 6'11'' 250 19 B- C D B- B- Bs
Good strength. Solid inside scoring, jumpshot, post defense and defensive rebounding. Mediocre blocks and handles. Poor steals.
Grade: B
Grade is incomplete depending on how mediocre the blocks are. Good starting ratings with B- across the boards, and only being 19 years old, as teen TC might boost him. He's not a blocker in real life, but this is BBS so that shouldn't matter much. Is he closer to the Zach Randolph mold instead of a block/score traditional FBB big? Like I said rating is incomplete till we know how mediocre the block is. But for now giving the pick a B, now we can hear Braz hyping Kanter the next few weeks!
11 Washington Wizards - Bojan Bogdanovic
Bojan Bogdanovic SF 6'7'' 226 22 B- B+ C- C C- B
Good jumpshot. Solid inside scoring, strength, 3 point shot and handles. Mediocre quickness. Poor steals, perimeter defense. Very poor blocks.
Grade: B
Jahallstar rose from the dead to pick Bojan, unfortunately one of the few players that needs camp early goes to the team that rarely camps its players, earlier I had Bojan higher on my list, but upon cross checking, and as sargo put it, he'll be the first 0.0/0.0 stocks wing in the league. The scoring will be very good to elite, but the poor steals and very poor blocks left a lot to be desire, so he should definitely moved to SG. Looking forward to Bogdan being better than him next draft though.
12 Charlotte Hornets (from Pacers) - Davis Bertans
Davis Bertans PF 6'10'' 225 19 C A- C- C+ C+ B
Good jumpshot and 3 point shot. Solid handles and strength. Mediocre inside scoring, steals, blocks. Offensive rebounding, mediocre. Defensive rebounding, mediocre. Jumping, poor.
Grade: A
Yeah sargo is elite. This is the perfect spot for him, though being a G-League early teens pick would be nice. Nonetheless, Sargo put it better "He looks like a better Love", will he be? Is the standard that low? JK. Love should had a higher starting potential, but Bertans looks promising and has a chance to be a better one, albeit with a not as high as what im assuming as starting potential, but Spencer said he had 3 100 pots last season, with 2 non lottos so there's a chance that this guy could be elite, even with just good potential, good jumpshot and three points is a nice start. Would have been crazy if he was allowed to play SF.
13 Milwaukee Bucks (from Pistons) - Kenneth Faried
Kenneth Faried PF 6'8'' 220 22 B C- D+ C+ B B
Good defensive rebounding, strength and jumping. Solid inside scoring. Mediocre blocks, steals, offensive rebounding, handles, jumpshot.
Grade: B
Another mediocre blocking big, there should be a better gauge on a blocking than just a vague mediocre, I'm not sure on how mid the blocking of big is with this current set up. But Spencer has a lot on his plate for a draft notes reform right now. Already 22 though, so IDK. Decent enough pick that you know you won't be cutting a year off. Inside might be inflated by the good jumping. Let's move on.
