1. What are your teams plans this season?
mike - To find myself in the lottery, hopefully around the middle of the lottery when it’s all said and done so we can add another quality piece next to JO, Davis, Dejan, and Bobby. Then it’s compete time.
mouse - Hopefully tank and get another top 3 pick, and add another core piece to McGrady and McDyess. Have a couple other picks as well so hoping to get lucky and find another decent player in the mid round. Also looking to camp guys like Blount, Moore, and Alvin throughout season with RCs.
chipper - Plan is to win! Hoping to reset and see how far we can get.
Ding Dong Boys - Try to compete for a title. I think I'm a piece or two short. Probably a big that can block some shots but yeah. Try to compete. We don't have a great PG either. But we play good defense, rebound well and have scorers. Maybe we can get lucky in the playoffs.
2. How do you feel about the low ratings in this league compared to BBS6?
mike - It’s obviously better. No one likes inflation!! You can really find some quality guys that sim above their ratings which is always fun.
mouse - As someone who came in towards the end it was difficult assessing talent cause everyone was so inflated. There was free agents remaining after the 5 sim days who would be MAX players in this current league so it's nice now to start with everyone else on the same page and be able to assess the talent a more realistic way.
chipper - Well, I actually think it’s been great. It’s been way more competitive, I think, and the ratings are definitely less inflated than where we left off in the other BBS.
Ding Dong Boys - Honestly, it took a minute to adjust. Still taking some time. For god sake, I had Magic fucking Johnson. It was fantastic. I loved my team. We were winning consistently. So yeah, it's taking a little time to adjust but I'm getting there. It doesn't really take much to be successful. Just need a really nice big time player. Ok, maybe that's the tough part. But building around a pretty good player and some decent role players and you can make the playoffs. Really crazy 180 going from the old BBS to this one lol.
3. Chauncey Billups looks like he should have went top 3 based on his play so far. How did he fall to #5?
mike - Billups is good but I could see how, if someone though SJax would eventually be better. But I don’t see that. Billups will be a nice PG.
mouse - I think I mentioned in another RT that I was surprised he fell to 5. DBW made a comment that he felt like he was the 2nd best prospect and many disagreed but it's looking like people are starting to share that sentiment. Although since I camped TMac he's at B+ B- scoring and putting up good numbers at 18 years old, so I personally don't regret the decision.
chipper - I don’t think it’s that egregious tbh. The top 5- you could have made an argument for 3-5 anywhere in that order. Billups is gonna be great. But I also think Ricky Davis and Stephen Jackson are gonna be great too.
Ding Dong Boys - Who the fuck knows but good on Braz? Hey man, enjoy it! You get lucky now and then. That's drafting baby.
4. The 98 draft looks very deep. Who is your consensus #1 pick and why?
mike - I’m not sure I see a sure fire guy that goes 1. I like Pierce based on his notes. Dirk is interesting but him being stuck at PF kind of decreases his value given the lack of stocks and boards.
mouse - I would probably go Vince personally cause to have that VC TMac cousin dynamic, or go Pierce cause I'm a Celtics fan. Besides those 2 I haven't looked too deep into the notes yet. Dirk is another obvious choice as well.
chipper - It’s Dirk, but I’m biased because he’s one of my all-time favorite players.
Ding Dong Boys - Gotta be Dirk but I do love Vince. So tough call. I think it's fun drafting these guys again. But I think I would go Dirk.
5. Do you see the Spurs repeating this season or is there another team better than them?
mike - It’s possible. Any time you have MJ and David Robinson you’re going to find yourself in the middle of title talk. The Bucks and Celtics should give them a run for their money.
mouse - I think it's the Bucks year, but Spurs will probably get to the finals again. Depending on injuries, and any additional moves made by other teams I think the Bucks make it happen. I don't know how nobody didn't sign Mahmoud to at least MLE.
chipper - If MJ is healthy- yes. They’ll repeat. If not, Bucks and Grizz look great.
Ding Dong Boys - They could definitely repeat. For sure. MJ could get another title. But it's FBB, old guys get injured. If I was a betting man.. and i am... they don't repeat. Someone gets injured.
6. What potential free agents next offseason do you see landing a max deal?
mike - I don’t know if there are any worth it, unless Spencer adds some studs in FA. The following year is when FA becomes a real factor.
mouse - No one really catches my attention unless Spencer adds some decent FAs, or someone wants to take a risk on a young guy. Maybe someone gives Mahmoud a max to pry him away from Milwaukee? I honestly don't know who stands out in FA.
chipper - I would not offer anyone a max contract. Maybe McInnis? But I haven’t looked in-depth.
Ding Dong Boys - I have no idea who is going to be a FA next year. So hopefully someone is worthy of it because that would make things interesting and fun. Much better than this past seasons lol.
7. What are your Christmas plans?
mike - We are heading to my parents, with my sisters, their kids and husbands. My cousins from FL are also coming. 7 fishes!!!
mouse - Spend the day with my girl watching all the NBA games. We celebrate on XMas eve with the families then chill on XMas day.
chipper - Chinese food because I’m Jewish.
Ding Dong Boys - With my family in CT. Aunt and uncles Christmas eve and then my grandmas christmas day. My brother is in town from LA. We went out to dinner tonight. Life is swell
8. Lastly, tell us something interesting about yourself that we don’t know about yet.
mike - Theres nothing interesting about me!! I’m boring!
mouse - I have an addiction to Asian massage parlors that I'm working on stopping and will try to eliminate over the new year. Wish I never started going but it became an adrenaline rush and just something relaxing and enjoyable that I just gotta stop lol.
chipper - Uh… idk. I’m a trained hypnotist? Maybe that?
Ding Dong Boys - I'm the horniest guy in CT. Big movie guy. Love movies. Saw the Iron Claw the other night. Good flick. Big Jets, Knicks and Yankees fan of course. Going to Park City Utah in a few weeks to ski. Come join!
