1998 182 Rockets Sign PG Nate McMillan for $4,500,000 over one year.
They add a backup PG who started for Utah last year. He'll play behind John Stockton and can spot start as well.
1998 182 Hawks Sign PG Brian Shaw for $4,500,000 over one year.
Another team who needed another PG. He's projected to start for the Hawks if they can't re-sign Muggsy Bogues. Shaw started the last two seasons for OKC and averaged 15 ppg, 4 boards, and 8 assists.
1998 182 Hornets Sign PG Cory Alexander for $5,000,000 over one year.
Alexander is young and has upside. Hornets are in a youth movement so it made sense to bring him back.
1998 182 Knicks Sign PG Greg Anthony for $6,000,000 over one year.
Nice depth piece but the rebuilding Knicks will most likely move him to a contender before the deadline.
1998 182 Spurs Sign SG Dell Curry for $5,400,000 over one year.
The sharpshooter was pivotal for the Spurs last season before getting hurt. They bring him back for another postseason run.
1998 182 Mavericks Sign PG Chris Whitney for $4,500,000 over one year.
A backup PG who will split time with Kenny Anderson.
1998 182 Celtics Sign PF Don Reid for $30,166,500 over 4 years.
After losing Dennis Rodman to retirement, Boston adds a young big who is projected to start for them. He will provide blocks and boards for the defending champs.
1998 182 Heat Sign PF Clifford Robinson for $4,500,000 over one year.
A nice role player who will provide depth up front as a 6th/7th man. He averaged 13 ppg in the last two seasons for OKC.
1998 182 Suns Sign C Scott Williams for $4,500,000 over one year.
Williams didn't play much for Phoenix the last two seasons but he brings boards and a great locker room presence for a team that dominates the regular season.
1998 182 Celtics Sign C Tyrone Hill for $5,000,000 over one year.
Hill adds more big depth for the defending champs who recently lost Dennis Rodman to retirement.
1998 182 Rockets Sign PF Kevin Willis for $1,200,000 over one year.
Just a depth piece for Houston and most likely will retire there when it's all said and done.
1998 182 Bucks Sign SG Drazen Petrovic for $1,200,000 over one year.
A FA who was added last season but disappointed for the Denver Nuggets. As long as his outside stays A-, he will become a threat in an outside offense for Milwaukee.
1998 182 Nets Sign C Greg Anderson for $1,200,000 over one year.
A cheap big who will provide blocks and boards for a team who has plenty of that.
1998 182 Knicks Sign PF Gary Trent for $6,000,000 over one year.
Trent is young and can score down low. Knicks are young so it made sense to re-sign him and continue to develop there.
1998 182 Magic Sign PF Adrian Kidd for $4,500,000 over one year.
No BBS experience and was added to the FA class(?). Orlando is rebuilding so I guess they took a flier on this Kidd.
1998 182 Nets Sign C Andrew Lang for $1,200,000 over one year.
Cheap big who the Nets hope he can still provide blocks and boards when given playing time.
1998 182 Thunder Sign SF Andres Santangelo for $1,200,000 over one year.
A mystery FA added to the class. No scouting report or notes whatsoever. OKC are banking on that A potential, I guess.
1998 183 Warriors Sign PG Darrick Martin for $4,500,000 over one year.
My Warriors needed a backup PG and there isn't a better one than Martin who started and won 57 games with Memphis last season. I'm stoked for this signing and he's un-camped.
1998 183 Grizzlies Sign PF Walter Fizer for $28,000,000 over 4 years.
Speaking of Memphis, they sign a mystery FA who has nice ratings for a young big. He replaces Don Reid at the 4.
1998 183 Wizards Sign PF Samaki Walker for $4,500,000 over one year.
A young big who provided points and boards the last two seasons for LAC and Minny. Multiple awards in his young career. He brings this resume to a solid Washington team next season.
1998 183 Mavericks Sign PF Danny Manning for $3,000,000 over one year.
Manning had great success with Dallas last season and made the BBS Finals. Mavs needed to bring him back for another post season run.
They add a backup PG who started for Utah last year. He'll play behind John Stockton and can spot start as well.
