1. So, the CY is gone. What do you think replaces it?

mouse : I think they'll be stipulations where you must win a certain amount of games or make the playoffs or lose draft picks/camping rights. If you're one of the active GMs who does care those should enough incentives to motivate you to contend.

Ding Dong Boys - I don't think anything replaces it. I think Spencer realizes how bad the wait list is and trying to keep a steady group of active GMs in this league. I'm not sure what that means for the time being. If people will abuse it. Constantly be in the lotto, etc etc. Should be interesting to see what happens without the CY. It has been forever.

Nanz : Im sure spence is going to have some sort of penalty for a team that doesnt make the playoffs or win 42 in a certian amount of years? I hope its meaningful enough like loss of cap or Picks instead of losing your MLE or something but you also cant destroy the franchise. Its tough but i trust Spence.

2. If the CY had stayed, who do you think would have been in the most trouble?

mouse : The only team I've paid attention to is Toronto and I think they are a couple pieces away. Another big with Duncan would be nice but they have some solid pieces. I just think they need a true elite guard/wing to take them to the elite level. Minnesota is another team I was concerned with unless I'm wrong on their CY status.

Ding Dong Boys - Game/Clippers. His team is in really bad shape with just Steve Nash and nothing else to show for. He would have one more season to tank and basically build a squad from scratch. Unlikely he would get a top pick with Nash as well. Really would be in the most trouble.

Nanz : To be honest, i dont know and i dont know why so many people were freaking out LOL i guess i'll go with Braz because it seemed like it was going to be him if he didnt get it this year and i get it, Losing Camby in FA or not getting other vets would have made it thought but i think everyone would have been fine.

3. T-Mac, KVH, Brad Miller. 3 players taken in the top 10 that haven't lived up to expectations. Do any of them recover?

mouse : I'm not concerned with TMac just yet. I mean he's only 20 and I might be able to camp him up to A- B+ scoring by the end of this season. I just want the defense to improve a little bit and we should be content with his production in a couple years.

Ding Dong Boys - Nah, all busts. TMac might be an ok player that hangs around until he retires but they all are really nothing prospects. I like that Spence might be changing it up a bit. We know who was good and who wasn't. It gets boring after awhile continuing to see the same old stuff. You gotta have some different people boom and you gotta have some different people bust. So, no I don't really see any of them recovering.

Nanz : T-Mac for sure. He is aStud and i'm sure he has potential left. I gotta go with him specially since he was a clear number 2 in a draft. KVH was nasty at the 2 so not surprised.

4. Who took the biggest hit in FA this past offseason?

mouse : Probably the Spurs losing McInnis, as well as the Bucks losing some key rotation guys but I think both teams still have enough to be contenders yet again.

Ding Dong Boys - Spurs losing Jeff McInnis. That seems like the biggest blow and a nice gain for the Raptors. That will hurt the Spurs chances of going back to the Finals.

Nanz : I'll go with the Spurs losing their starting PG. Thatss a huge hit for a team trying to win it all.

5. What was the worst trade of this past offseason?

mouse : I feel like some people think I overpaid for AI but I made the trade with the impending CY in mind and didn't wanna have to make 2-3 major moves next season if we missed the playoffs this season. Getting a 23 year old AI made sense now because he fits right into our young nucleus instead of being desperate next year having to move picks and talent for a 36 year old MJ for example. Not to mention we shook up the quiet trade market and made some noise. In hindsight however, if I known CY would have been eliminated I definitely probably would have kept the picks, and remained in a more serious rebuild.

Ding Dong Boys - Don't think there were too many bad trades this offseason. Honestly haven't been that many so far. I think my trade with Philly was the biggest and everyone seemed to agree it was pretty even. Don't really see any bad trades so far but maybe I'm missing one.

Nanz : Were there any trades? LOL i dk. I guess we'll go withthe Chipper and Braz trade... just didn't make any sense but oh well.

6. Looking around, which teams are in the best position to become title contenders starting next year?

mouse : I think if the Nuggets get aggressive they could make some noise, as well as the Raptors if moves are made. Gotta move some of those PGs and picks and bring in better talent. Surprised they didn't go after Coleman or Rice.

Ding Dong Boys - Seems like a lot of the familiar faces should be back in the mix this season. Celtics, Spurs, Mavericks, Nets, Grizzlies, etc. I'm not really seeing anyone take a huge leap but maybe there is someone out there. Hornets might surprise some people.

Nanz : Well of course the Spurs with MJ are always there and the Mavs coming from the west have to be the top 2 out west. And of course the returning champs! Celtics coming back for some more!

7. Of the title contenders, who breaks it up first and why?

mouse : I can see the Spurs going in a new direction if MJ were to retire. They have their picks starting next year unless they try and move them for more pieces. Celtics could be another team too that decides to shake it up.

Ding Dong Boys : gotta be the Celtics or Spurs. Old squads that will have to retool or completely tear it down when one of their 35 year old superstars retires.

Nanz : I'll go with the Spurs. At first i was gonna say the Celtics because they are getting old with Hakeem and Pppen but Kobe as been talking about trading MJ and Deke so lets go with that. BOS doesn't have their picks yet either i dont think.

8. Who goes 1st next year?

mouse : Draft looks super fun. Could see Francis or Baron going there depending on team need. Although bigs are a dime a dozen right now so Brand might be the right pick unless his defense and shot blocking is wack.

Ding Dong Boys - Manu go first in the last league? Baron Davis. Ron Artest, Elton Brand. Marion. Francis. Odom. Some fun names. I think you can go anyway here. Gotta see ratings. Spence making these boom or busts make things interesting... I'd say Manu!

Nanz : WHo is in this ddraft? Ummm give me elton Brand. Bigs are needed here and he has always been a good BBS player.

9. Looking back to the creation draft, what was the biggest misfire you had?

mouse : I think I should have just kept my 1st pick and drafted a franchise player to develop from the get go. The Spurs picks never really amounted to much, and the other picks I ended up acquiring were the ones that were able to get me guys like McDyess, AI, etc. I was able to move a 2nd in that deal for 2 more picks, so essentially I was able to bring in 5 1sts for my 1st creation pick, but I still do regret the move a bit. I think in general just not keeping at least one pick to be able to use those first 2 free ACs and 3 RCs on someone important was a mistake on my part.

Ding Dong Boys - Not trading back into the 1st round. I guess that is harder than you think. Nearly impossible. But I wish I could have traded into the first round instead of waiting until the 2nd to grab a couple players. The league's talent really fell off and it basically took me from a title contender to just a regular playoff team. If I had 2 first round picks could have been up there with the Celtics and Spurs imo but so could have a lot of teams. Oh well, back to the drawing board!

Nanz : Big Z LOL I thuoght he might have something there but he had nothing. Poor fella has been a huge bust but had to take a chance on getting a big and just didn't work.
