1. Orlando Magic (from 76ers) - Dirk Nowitzki
DRAFT - Dirk Nowitzki PF 7'0'' 245 20 B- B D+ C C+ A
NOW - Dirk Nowitzki PF 21 7'0'' 245 B- A- D+ C B- A
DB's thoughts: Dirk looks to be developing his rebounding and scoring. After the preseason sim, his scoring, rebounding has improved and his percentages look very nice. The biggest concern when drafting Dirk is the inability to play him at the 3. This understanding put GM DB in a position to camp his rebounds in hope that he can become a very good rebounder at the 4. I think Dirk will be a very good player in this league but not ELITE. Not being allowed to play the 3 will prevent Dirk from becoming an ELITE player. FBB is too flawed for a player like Dirk to thrive at the 4.

2. Indiana Pacers - Paul Pierce
DRAFT - Paul Pierce SF 6'7'' 235 21 B B- C C C+ A
NOW - Paul Pierce - SF 22 6'7'' 235 B+ B+ C C C+ B
DB's Thoughts: Paul is a nice scoring 3 with good rebounding and offense. His offense looks like it look a little leap based off preseason numbers as well as his rebounding. 21 points a game with 8 rebounds and really good percentages. A nice pick but another player with C defense. This is not the old BBS. We are not seeing these guys have explosive TC's yet. His scouted potential also took a hit. I think Paul will be a nice player in this league for awhile that will be a long time starter with all-star potential. His turnovers are a bit of an issue even at the 3. So that could present a problem. But this seems like still the right pick.

3. Minnesota Timberwolves - Vince Carter
DRAFT - Vince Carter SF 6'6'' 220 21 B+ C+ C C C A
NOW - Vince Carter SG 22 6'6'' 220 B+ C+ C C C A
DB's thoughts: Vince is really the same? Wow, didn't realize that. After 2 TC's Vince Carter has nothing to show for. He doesn't really have much volume and his percentages are ok but the good thing is he doesn't turn the ball over that much. His preseason numbers weren't that impressive coming off the bench and he doesn't do much that stands out. I'm sure this could end up being the right pick but right now he's just a solid role player off the bench.

DRAFT - Antawn Jamison PF 6'8'' 223 22 B+ C C- C B- A
NOW - Antawn Jamison SF 23 6'8'' 223 B+ C+ C- C+ B A
DB's thoughts: Antawn has developed his scoring, defense and rebounding a bit. He looks to be a very solid player and is still holding his A scouted potential. The computer didn't play him much in preseason but based off last years numbers he had really low turnovers, high FG%, good scoring and rebounding. He continues to develop those tools and more he could be a nice 4. I like this pick more than Vince. I think Antawn could have a better career for sure.

DRAFT - Rashard Lewis SF 6'10'' 215 19 C+ B D+ C C A
NOW - Rashard Lewis PF 20 6'10'' 215 C+ A- C C C A
DB's thoughts: Rashard was just traded but he is a very good shooter at the 3. The computer seems like they moved him to the 4 for some reason though in preseason. I don't think Rashard should ever be a starter though looks like a nice 2/3 backup that provides some solid scoring off the bench. Low turnovers. No volume. Could be a starter I guess in this league if I think about but I'm not sure if you will ever win with a player like him. Not much you can do at the 5 here and with this draft. Hard to gauge these drafts right now.

DRAFT - Mike Bibby PG 6'1'' 190 20 C B B C D+ A
NOW - Mike Bibby PG 21 6'1'' 190 C B B+ C D+ B
DB's thoughts: Very bad TC pretty much for Mike. He looks like a backup for sure though I'm not even sure there. His rebounding his bad. Turns the ball over 3 times + per game. His percentages aren't bad but again nothing really special. He can shoot and pass the ball. Not a great rebounder. Doesn't look like a starting PG for me. Not sure what you do here. Camp his ass and hope for the best.

NOW - Raef LaFrentz PF 23 6'11'' 240 B C+ D- C+ B B
DB's thoughts: A nice bump in his inside scoring and rebounding. Solid backup big that can board and score. I'm not sure if he has been camped but could be a nice 3rd or 4th big over time. He started in preseason and his turnovers were really low. No stocks but a decent backup big.

DRAFT - Larry Hughes SG 6'5'' 184 19 C+ C C+ B C A
NOW - Larry Hughes SG 20 6'5'' 184 C+ A- C+ A- C- B
DB's thoughts: Larry might be the most developed player from this draft class. Came in. with C outside and jumped all the way to A-? Nice lol. His defense as well have developed and only 20 years old. Looking good. No volume. Defense is solid, decent amount of steals. Low turnovers. No rebounding. Solid percentages. He's a good player. Not a superstar or all-star by any means but a great pick at 8.

DRAFT - Cuttino Mobley SG 6'4'' 190 23 C+ B C+ C C- B
NOW - Cuttino Mobley SG 24 6'4'' 190 C+ B+ C C C- C
A decent shooter off the bench. Can score but can't really rebound or play defense. No turnovers really though. Bit of a bust. After two TC's already at C scouted potential. We all knew this pick wouldn't amount to anything really when drafted. Kinda tough here at the 9th spot. Cuttino is forgettable.

DRAFT - Al Harrington PF 6'9'' 230 18 C+ C+ C- C C+ A
NOW - Al Harrington SF 19 6'9'' 230 C+ C+ C B C+ A
DB's thoughts: Big Al's defense has improved. 19 years old. Still has A potential. Preseason was actually pretty solid. 11ppg/8rpg on low turnovers and pretty good percentages. Does he have 100 potential? Can he develop his scoring and rebounding some more. He is so young and puts up solid numbers so there is hope. Al is probably a steal here at 10. Nice!

DRAFT - Robert Traylor C 6'8'' 284 21 B- D+ F+ C+ C+ B
NOW - Robert Traylor C 22 6'8'' 284 B D+ D- C+ B- B
DB's thoughts: A little improvement. No stocks. Not much rebounding. Again, doesn't look like he's been camped much. Could be a solid 4th big I guess. But really shouldn't be starting yet. Might not have much potential. But a lotto pick nonetheless. The type of picks we're seeing towards the end of the lotto. Not much lol.

DRAFT - Nazr Mohammed C 6'10'' 221 21 C C- D+ B- B- B
NOW - Nazr Mohammed C 22 6'10'' 221 C+ C- D B B C
Decent backup big that developed his rebounding and defense. Looks like he could be a good 3/4 big. No potential i guess. He has all his camps left. Maybe something could be there if you developed him. Not bad for the 13th overall pick but nothing special. Again these late lottos are bench players if that as of right now.
