1. You received a lot of criticism for the Brand deal? What do you have to say about the move, and is there any regret on going with Elton?
While I do agree it was a lot to give up I unlike my fellow GMs am not caught up in bigs stock/turnover ratio. Of course you want your PF to block 4 shots a game but I personally am ok with a guy that’s going to come in and pretty much average 20+/10+ for his whole career while grabbing a block or 2 with solid defense. He is in the perfect situation to be able to develop while TMac and Vince Carter handle some of the scoring load.
2. Your young nucleus is considered one of the best in the league. Do you still think Bibby is the PG of the future, or is that a position you're looking to upgrade?
I did have higher hopes for Bibby but of course it is too early to say what he will or won’t become. He still has many camps left and I’m hoping his turnover issue was just a factor of only 1 sim being in the can. If he could just improve his defense a bit I’m still hopeful he has all star potential in this league.
3. Is Tracy McGrady developing into what you expected when you made the move and departed with young point guard Stephon Marbury?
McGrady is a great young talent man. Shipping away Marbury was tough because we all saw the talent he had, no shock he’s leading that Sixers squad to some great things. But one thing we have to take into account … He’s still only 20! Already at B+ B+ scoring and still getting better I feel very confident in saying we have a franchise player here in Minny that will lead us to playoff victories very SOON
4. What's the plan with the post pad AC's, as well as this one? What guys are you looking to start developing?
The first order of business is to work with Vince Carter to improve his game. It was a slight disappointment that he was not able to improve much during the offseason program but taking a look at how he’s performing in preseason and the first sim, we are still projecting great things for the high flyer.
5. When do you realistically expect to become a legitimate contender in the Western Conference?
To be honest with you brother we signed Sasha Danliovic in the offseason in an effort to boost our bench scoring in an effort to make a push to be competitive in the here and now. While that does seem a tad unrealistic i do believe with a few tweaks there is room towards the
bottom half of the playoffs to be able to eventually sneak in. As far as legitimate contender status that will soon follow !!
6. You're one of the most notable African American GMs in FBB history. With roots across multiple leagues, what is something that you like about BBS compared to some other leagues out there?
Well you know I don’t like to root my own horn, but I have made it possible for the Eli Weekes of the world to thrive in the world of FBB. My mentor in this game was Christopher King aka CWizz and he taught me treat this computer simulation game like its real LIFE. As far as BBS goes I like how dedicated the core group of GMs are which pretty much ensures this league will be going for a long time. It’s nice to invest this much time in something you know will be around !!
7. Let's piggy back off the previous question, and go the opposite direction. What's something you're not really messing with in BBS?
Aside from the constant belaboring of stocks and the stock to turnover ratio as it relates to big men and their formula for FBB success, i do find it tiresome that the only way to camp is via nonstop posting and articles. I don’t know how some of these dudes find time to be posting all these damn articles but I guess that’s been the main hindrance to tanking since the fantasy draft.
8. I know you're a Falcons fan. You happy they didn't go with Bellichick?
I mean I did dream of Harbaugh but as far as realistic targets go I am happy with radio raheem. His players swear by him and I do believe in giving second CHANCES. Won’t mean shit unless we find a QB anyway so I’ll be interested to see how the offseason unfolds.
