Today we sit with CC and ask him questions.
CC : On a scale between 1-10, probably a 4. We lost Clyde in FA and traded Christian Dirk Laettner for picks so we knew we were going to step back heading into the offseason. Cap wise, we didn't have much funds to spend besides retaining some of our FA's. But we brought in Warriors legend Mully for the MLE which we were happy about.
2. You clearly wanted Clek in the draft. Why?
CC: Clack had promising notes with no weaknesses. I have a feeling he is going to be a solid player and there was no way he was going to fall in the 20's. But we traded him to LA yesterday so good luck to him.
3. As currently constructed, where do you rank in the West?
CC: On paper we should be top 3 in the West. Cedric Ceballos is having a career year and we just added David Robinson. Team chemistry might take a few sims but I feel like we should be among the best in the West like last season.
4. What is your next move?
CC: After adding Robinson, probably stand pat and see how this new team unfolds. We obviously like to continue to get better if anything. We still have our 2000 and 2001 1sts available so if we do make another move, those picks could be involved in a deal.
5. Looking around, who's your favorite young core in the league?
CC: I really like what Charlotte has built. After them, probably the Wolves.
6. What team is looking bleak overall?
CC: Pacers. We traded a potential lotto pick and they supposedly have a great starting five? pfff. I'm not sold. The rest of the east improved as well so it will be tough for them to be a major contender.
7. This draft is looking bad. Obviously this is before notes. Who should get bumped up ratings wise to improve the draft?
CC: Maybe someone like Mike Miller or Jamal Crawford. I could see them as really good scorers in this league. Maybe Stromile Swift can have hidden 100 pot and become a really good shot blocker in this league. Notes should be interesting once they are released.
8. Shaq, Webber, KG. Who is most likely to get traded before the deadline and to Who?
CC: Webber. Rockets are tanking hard and they have him on the block currently. Hopefully he'll be moved to a team in the East. Get him out of the West.
9. What is your theory on building a team? What do you look for?
CC: I try to mirror other successful teams tbh. I start by looking for a stocky front court who can board and then surround them with scorers and a great PG. Depth is a must as well.
10. Is the Warriors title winning for this core over in the NBA?
CC: My Warriors suck ass. We are washed and we need to rebuild soon.
11. What do the 49ers need to do to win? What's your score prediction?
CC: Get back to their elite defensive ways. Unfinished business vs KC. 31-24 Niners is my prediction.
