Draft: Creation Draft, Round 1 Pick 17
Teams: Celtics, Blazers, Nuggets
Drafted in the 1st round, pick 17, the Boston Celtics had a plan in mind. The Celtics were going for it. Hakeem proved up to the task as he had back-to-back great seasons for the Celtics which are currently the Celtics best two seasons including their only ring thus far. A consistent double-double guy, Hakeem not only showed he was a top-tier defender winning two DPOY but was a force on offense as well, never shooting below 46% from the field along with being a great FT shooter. Even as his time was winding down, Hakeem was still a top big in the league. During his third season in Boston, he was traded to the Blazers, pushing the Blazers to the playoffs. His stay in Portland was short however as the next season, he was shipped out to Denver. While he clearly was on the downturn of his career, his three seasons in Denver showed that he was still a top big in the league. In his last season in Denver, he made the finals and almost helped push the Nuggets to their first ring as well. While Hakeem only played 6 seasons, he'll likely always be involved when it comes to naming the top bigs in BBS history.
