CC's Gming style has intrigued me this league. He has been willing to take on bad deals, zig where others zag and seems to be fine with the middle ground of 42/ playoffs. At the same time he has been hungry and consistently pushing for a chance at a playoff birth. I caught up with him on Friday night to learn a bit more.
1. You talked for years about tanking hard in 03. What changed
CC - First of all, I love to compete. Losing sucks and it’s no fun at all. After winning my first ship here, I just craved winning games even more. Not to mention, there was no way I could have bottom out like the other tankers. We were in a position of paying our players big money so it was hard to dump them while not getting raped before the 2003 draft. I decided fuck it, just retool and win as many games as we can. Luckily, we were able to reset with 42 wins and land a lotto pick at the same time. Imo it was a win-win situation for us. We will continue to compete until the bbs gods say enough is enough.
2. What does spree mean to your franchise at this point in time?
CC - We hope he retires a warrior. One of my favorite dubs growing up. He means a lot to our franchise since he helped us win a ship and will continue to help us win games. We just hope his outside shot turns into A- before he calls it a career.
3. Last season you talked about benching players. Is this a request that comes directly from the stars? Are the bench guys screaming for some burn? How do you explain this to the ticket holders when they pay to see the big guns!
CC - We wanted to make the playoffs and tbh we didn’t want to see our guys hurt in the last sim. But of course, we would be accused of tanking for resting our stars so we decided not to do that for the leagues sake. However, we’ve rested guys in the past and our fans should understand that. Who wants to see their star player(s) miss the start of the playoffs due to playing meaningless games towards the end of the season?
4. What are your predictions for Lebron in year 1 and year 5 star wise.
CC - Well he will win rookie of the year and by year 5, probably have a title or two on his resume.
5. Okay now stat predictions for Wade, Bosh, Melo!
CC -
Wade 21 ppg, 5 rpg, 4 apg, 2 stocks.
Bosh 18 ppg, 7 rpg, 1.5 bpg
Melo 23 ppg, 6 rpg, 1 apg
6. Right now I have Lebron and Zbo as options long term. It seems to fit balanced. Who else would you target?
CC - I would target outside shooters to surround those two guys and there are plenty out there. Can’t have the paint clogged.
7. You live in the Bay Area it seems. What is your thought on GSW players in this file so far? Go through as many as ya can
CC -
Spree - more elite than irl. But the +15 made him that way.

Jamison - good offensive player, bad defender. Very realistic.

Arenas - stud as a sophomore just like irl. Sucks we couldn’t pay the man due to being a 2nd round pick and watching him sign with the wizards.
8. Tell us more about your time here as the camp mod. One of the most demanding and meticulous jobs
CC - It’s definitely time consuming but worth the 2 ac’s. Not a hard job at all since it’s basically copy and paste, editing.
9. You seem to be a GM who gets mid talent and enjoys making them blossom. Why has this become your niche
CC - We just run a very fast pace system that allows our guys to play at their best. Minutes are always available here and if you have talent you will play. Simple as that.
