Braves have been looking to clear some room so Ohtani, while highly unlikely, is at least somewhat feasible I really think they're gonna go for Yamamoto tho- it makes too much sense since he's only 25 and Fried and Morton will be gone after next season. why would Yamamoto go to Atlanta? Thats not happening Braves have a dire need for a starter- he's only 25 so the long-term contract is something Braves would be comfortable with compared to the other available starters and their ages. Braves have a great winning culture right now- any player would be happy to play on this team. The one thing we DON'T have going for us is a lack of success with Japanese players- Kenshin Kawakami is basically the only Japanese player we've ever had and he failed hard. |

Are the Braves even in the mix? No one really knows because AA, as a rule, doesn't leak. Most moves the Braves do aren't known until they release the Twitter post with the statement. Trades are the exception because the other side tends to leak. But FA moves, the Braves don't give any info out until it's done. Agents will of course leak to get other teams to up their price- but the Braves MO has been to not get into bidding wars so it's not necessarily a useful tactic if the player wants Atlanta. |
