1 Charlotte Hornets - Chris Paul
- The easiest pick of the draft. He was by far the best player in the draft and the Hornets grabbed CP3 who should dominate the league for a very long time. I expect Mike to get a team around him and make the playoffs sooner rathe then later. CP3 and Melo combo could very well be deadly.
2 Charlotte Hornets (from Bucks) - Andrew Bogut
- Charlotte gave up Josh Smith and a future to the Bucks for the 2nd overall pick. Great deal for the Hornets. They needed a defensive big with Melo being a liability on defense. Bogut will come in and be a starter and should be for a very long time. Can he become more than a defensive big? Probably not. The upside he has is all on the defensive side and he could be DPOTY.
3 Toronto Raptors - Danny Granger
- Danny Granger looks to be the most BBS league ready player. He will start from day 1 and probably lead the raptors in scoring from day 1. I really think that you should camp Granger ASAP, because who knows how much potential he has. If he has a decent amount he will be a legit SF for a very long time.
4 Utah Jazz - Deron Williams
- This was confusing for me because the Jazz just spent a top pick on Shaun Livingston the previous draft. He might’ve been the best available player, but he is looking like the TWolves GM (IRL) hoarding PGs. My opinion is you have to trade one of them, but knowing Lumley he wont.
5 Minnesota Timberwolves (from Wizards) - Andrew Bynum
- The Timberwolves took a gamble on Bynum. He looks like he could develop into a starting big. They might have to be very patient with this prospect because he is very raw. A big coming out of high school is a gamble and knowing the TWolves GM he is a gambling man. In terms of parlays I would say this is a +1500 parlay to hit on this pick.
6 Washington Wizards (from Thunder) - Monta Ellis
- Monta Ellis is who I thought should go 5th overall. He played on the Warriors and had good notes. His rebounding is good enough to be a starter in this league, and has the scoring to be a really good SG. I think he can contribute sooner then Bynum and might have a better career. The safer of the 2 picks.
7 Minnesota Twolves (from Indiana Pacers, orig. from Philadelphia 76ers) - Marvin Williams
- Marvin Williams looks like a good player. Will the TWolves be able to camp Bynum and Marvin into starters sooner then later? That will be seen, but taking a chance on 2 youngster in this draft isn’t the worst way to start a rebuild. I view these as free picks and it is a good gamble. Either he ends up looking like a genius or he might be scrambling in a few seasons to move them.
8 Portland Trail Blazers - Gerald Green
- I honestly thought this was high for Gerald Green. There is one guy I would’ve definitely taken ahead of this super athlete. We know Green can jump, but the question is can he put the ball in the hoop? He needs TLC to become a starter in this league. Broph will camp him, lets see what TCs do to the 8th overall selection.
9 Denver Nuggets (from Rockets) - Lou Williams
- The steal of the lottery in my honest opinion. Lou was great last BBS, he might be great onbce again. I wonder if Braz will move him to PG immediately so he can get the PG TC for his first TC. Even if he doesn’t his floor is an elite backup 1-2. Great pick I think LeBron has help on the way, but will LeBron be able to wait on Lou Will to be able to make an impact?
10 Portland Trail Blazers (from Magic) - Ersan Ilyasova
- Another iffy pick by the Blazers. I think Ersan is decent, but not a lottery pick. The guy taken right after him was a better option and was also on the Warriors for a bit. Maybe Broph knows something I don’t, but David Lee was the pick here. If the Blazers came out the draft with Lou and DLee I think they would’ve been better off.
11 Atlanta Hawks - David Lee
- Yes I just hyped up this man, but he does have his flaws. I think at pick 11 you could’ve done a lot worse. Will this pick help the Hawks escape CY? I don’t think so. He needs a lot of help to beat CY this coming year. DLee will be a very good backup this coming season and should help the Hawks on the boards and be able to score efficiently.
12 Miami Heat via trade from Philadelphia 76ers (from Kings)- Ray Felton *
- The Heat select Raymond Felton! Miami rejoice your savior is here. Just kidding, I think the Heat had other holes to fill, pause, other then PG. I think Amir Johnson would’ve been a great pick here for the Heat. Felton should be a serviceable player, and be able to develop into a starter if camped.
13 Charlotte Hornets (from Clippers)- CJ Miles
- CJ Miles is yet another high schooler taken in the lottery. A lot of youth in this draft that could either pan out or flame out. I think Miles should be able to turn into a good player. He has the base, he just needs the camps. The Hornets have so much youth I am not sure they can get to camping CJ as fast as they would like. I do think the Hornets could’ve taken another big like Amir or Turiaf to pair with Bogut.
