1. What were your thoughts on the restart
habes - It was time! We'd done 70 or so seasons and interest was dying off a solid amount, plus inflation was out of control. I love starting over, love the file, love my friends in BBS.
nybombers3 -I mean I was surprised. A bit unhappy with how fast it was done but I get it. I'm still getting used to the ratings and such but it did bring a new and fun vibe so there is that.
Meathead - I think it was needed. I had a fun team but nobody was really trading and inflation/gimmick players had gotten out of hand. Didn't wanna start in 00 again but would have tolerated it.
2. Since it’s a new league any suggestions on changes, aside from inflation.
habes - Cap PG and SG rebounding at PG. I guess that just means don't allow non-PGs and non-SGs to play there. In prior versions, PGs didn't need to have great rebounding to be viable starters. I like when guys like Mark Price can start and be good at PG. The high rebounding kills off those guys.
nybombers3 - I think the cy needed a look at because I know we were kind of struggling to fill spots. Aside from that not sure.
Meathead - Less gimmick players, less elite handling players. Maybe we can change things up from last time by adding some randomness to drafts like random year from 1997-2024? IDK!
3. What do you think of your team
habes -I think it's really deep and full of guys who will have much more value after camps. But definitely an odd collection of guys and right now no one is elite.
nybombers3 - Eh. I do wish we could lose more but I'm ok with things as is. I'm sure we'll suck. Wesley should be a solid SG. Trent can be a fun backup. Have Options with my picks as well.
Meathead - KG will be elite but isn't there yet. We have good but not great talent. Six players averaging double figures. Gill is a good two way player. Hunter looks like a good PG here. Fun and dangerous!
4. Who was your favorite pick on your team
habes -Gotta be Rik Smits. Seems like he might be one of the best scoring bigs here. Great handles and midrange, and he gets stocks. I just need to give him +17 to rebounding asap.
nybombers3 - Wesley I think. He can be a very solid SG, playing both sides well. Trent is up there for sure. I think his D holds him back but he would play well as a back up.
Meathead - Either Lindsey Hunter or Kendall Gill. Gill has TO issues but join the club and he's an elite stocks guy at the 2 spot. Hunter doesn't pass and has elite handles looks like.
5. Favorite pick in the draft
habes - Mmm idk. Svedda sniped Dino Radja right in front of me so I'll say him. I also loved Scottie Pippen. Was considering him at 8.
nybombers3 - I mean, Jeff McInnis right? No idea why ashes made him good but damn. Person looks like a nice pick from LAC.
Meathead - Wesley Person in the 3rd round by the Clippers. I was going to draft him for sure at 75. Damn you diego!
6. If you could swap with one GM which team
habes -John, just to have KG.
nybombers3 - Raptors. Be the king of the 2nd round. I can get my own crown and shit. Can't miss the 2nd rd steal if you own the entire 2nd rd.
Meathead - Jazz because he has Mashburn! One of my favorites. Also having a 24 year old Shaq would be fun so throw in the Kings.
7. What you think will happen to raptors and sixers if they don’t get top 3 in draft
habes -It's early and they have picks so they'll be fine. Matt did a horrible job though--really didn't like seeing him dump his first like that.
nybombers3 - They'll get cyed or have to overpay for old talent. That was my biggest thing with not totally bottoming out. Adding talent might not be easy right now.
Meathead - They'll be fine. Just tank again in 98 and 99. I'm sure there will be some decent players added in FA because there won't be shit else available otherwise. Both teams have a lot of picks.
8. Eastern conference finals prediction
habes -Celts over Heat.
nybombers3 - Hm. I think the Celtics make it out the East. Hakeem looks nasty. Blaylock looks like a huge get for them at pg.
Meathead - Celtics - Heat. Give me the Heat just because I like the cumulativeness of their lineup.
9. Western conference finals prediction
habes -Grizz over Mavs.
nybombers3 - Grizzlies. I think they are probably the best team in the league overall.
Meathead - Grizzlies - Kings. Shaq is dominant but Kings will have no real answer for the other Grizz guys
