1 Phoenix Suns - Demarcus Cousins, to Utah
Current Ratings: B+ C+ C B- B A
Camps Remaining: +25
Cousins is completely uncamped and was given the +15 potential boost. Oh, and he just went +3 in TC. He's career is off to an amazing start and it appears Lumley has himself a future superstar. This pick was originally auto'd by Dallas Mavericks GM and Draft Mod, Harold. However, the Suns wished to select Paul George instead, leading to a swap of PG for DMC. It's safe to say that Utah won that trade initially. DMC has all the makings of a superstar.
2 Houston Rockets - forfeit
No comment. Let's move on...
3 Utah Jazz - Paul George, to Phoenix
Current Ratings: B+ B+ C B+ C A
Camps Remaining: NONE
We've talked about the swap. Let's talk about PG here for the Suns. I would have preferred that they keep DMC and pair with Jordan on their frontline for the next decade, but they opted for the wing in PG. PG is looking nice with B+ B+ scoring, but it's important to call out that he is camped out. He'll have to rely on TCs for improvement now, but the +15 will certainly help. Let's make something clear: PG is still a stud, but I prefer DMC.
4 Brooklyn Nets - John Wall
Current Ratings: B+ C+ B+ A- C A
Camps Remaining: NONE
Another fully camped out lottery pick. With full camps, I bet greeme was hoping that Wall's outside would at least hit B-. C+ is a tough look, but he should be loaded with potential. Poor outside shooting PGs are not the usual mold that greeme goes after, but there was a huge drop off after 2 and Wall was the smart pick. His notes do left a lot to be desired as he's weak, can't shoot the 3. I do not believe that the Nets have given Wall the +15 yet, but I would expect that to happen, should greeme keep Wall.
5 San Antonio Spurs - Hassan Whiteside
Current Ratings: C+ D+ D- B- A- A
Camps Remaining: +12
Another lottery pick that received the +15. It'll be fun to examine this in a few seasons. Whiteside is coming into the league as one of the league's better rebounders. He should be a solid shot blocker after +8 to his blocks. With his remaining +12, I'd probably target that jump shot and D/O rebounds. Whiteside will be a very valuable big man in this league, as GMs love boards and stocks. Good pick.
6 Oklahoma City Thunder - Gordon Hayward
Current Ratings: C+ A- C+ C C B
Camps Remaining: +11
Just not a fan. What does Hayward do well? Ok, we know he has a good jump shot, but will he have the volume to go with that? Doubt it. With +11 left, break can focus on improving the inside scoring a bit, but he'll need some TC luck. It's important to note that after the Whiteside pick, there is another fall off of players, which starts here.
7 Cleveland Cavaliers - Derrick Favors, to Charlotte
Current Ratings: B- C- D B C+ A
Camps Remaining: +25
The good? He's uncamped and retained his A scouted potential. The bad? Pretty much everything else. He traded outside for defense in TC and that was it. A very mundane TC for Favors, who was a piece in the Carmelo Anthony deal. I am sure that Steve is not losing any sleep over Mr. Favors. The Hornets will need to pump camps him into and hope he retained a lot of that potential to increase in the future.
8 Los Angeles Clippers - Larry Sanders, to Charlotte
Current Ratings: C D D B+ B B
Camps Remaining: +20
Looking at the draft, Sanders probably had the highest floor and lowest ceiling of most guys here in the lottery. We know he will block, but will he do anything more than that? He improved his defense in TC, but that was it. His rebounding went up to a B with a +5. Camps might be able to get Larry to B+ B+, but the jury is still out as to if he'll be more than a 3rd big. We shall see.
9 Orlando Magic - Lance Stephenson
Current Ratings: C+ C+ B- A- C B
Camps Remaining: +25
Uncamped! Lance went +3 in TC and looks like he has a shot to be solid. Going into the draft, I did not even have him on my board of players, but I might be wrong on him. If you can camp his scoring and it develops in TC, he will be a solid piece for teams given his defense and ability to limit TOs. I do not believe that Lance got the +15, but he probably could have used it.
10 Milwaukee Bucks - Al Farouq Aminu
Current Ratings: B C D B+ C+ B
Camps Remaining: +14
I liked Aminu a lot heading into the draft. I felt like he was primed to be a nice defensive / rebounding wing player. It appears that JR is camping him to be a PF, given the improvements already to blocks and rebounds. He didn't do anything of note in TC, despite a drop in handles, which could actually be beneficial if it's a passing rating that dropped. Aminu was not the recipient of the +15 as that went to RW, as it should have. We'll have to see how he develops.
11 Dallas Mavericks (from Pacers) - Manny Harris
Current Ratings: C+ B A- C C C
Camps Remaining: +9
What an interesting player this is. I believe he was an elite stock guy the last BBS? Could be wrong... but anyways - Harris came into the league as a SG with elite handles. Harold made the correct decision to move him to PG and develop him there. Unfortunately, his TC sucked ass. I am not sure he will ever have the volume needed to be a star, but giving him the +15 potential will give him a real chance. Let's not forget that he is C+ rebounding, which is nice for a PG. I am interested to see him sim and his development. He'll either be a Leftover FA or stud in a few seasons.
12 Indiana Pacers (from Pistons) - Avery Bradley, to Charlotte
Current Ratings: C B C B+ C- A
Camps Remaining: +19
I'm a big fan of Bradley. Elite quickness is what you want in a PG and the good steals is a huge bonus. His scoring is the question. Will he have the volume? Not sure, but I liked him enough to take a chance and traded Tony Allen for him. Pumping some camps into his scoring is needed sooner, rather than later. Between him and Patrick Beverley, the Hornets believe they have the PG position covered for a while, despite the trade of star, Chris Paul.
13 Washington Wizards - Patrick Patterson
Current Ratings: C B C B+ C- A
Camps Remaining: +19
What a jah-like pick. Didn't jah hold PP last BBS and he was a late bloomer? He's uncamped and was not given the +15 potential. Yet. I have a feeling that no one will notice Patterson improving and one day, when you randomly decide to look at the Wizards roster out of shear bordem, you'll see Patterson with A- B- C A- A- ratings and be like WTF! It's inevitable.
DeMarcus Cousins C 6'11'' 270 20 B C+ C C B A
