1. I'm gonna make y'all actually work for this one- who is the worst player currently starting on a playoff team, in your opinion?
Leon Rose - Looks like Adam Keefe on the Kings is getting big minutes. I don’t know why. He’s ass. Then again, stoool is wasting Shaq.
Braz - didn’t have to work too hard. It’s BJ Armstrong on your team. Pg is a position that’s becoming deeper in the league and youre is shooting 43%. (EDITOR'S NOTE- I'm getting you back for this with the last question)
nybombers3 - Whoever the Kings have at PF. I can't even tell. Second would be Taylor from the Clippers. I get bigs are a bit weak as is in the league but I don't see any true benefit from either of these guys. One I can't even name.
2. I'm going to throw a concept that I don't know has been suggested yet- but was thought of IRL a few years back when doing lottery reform. What about, in 2005 (or some future year after the vaunted 03 draft for fairness sakes), starting with the WHEEL for BBS picks? (See WHEEL INFO for more details). Just throwing out an idea for a talking point.
Sargo- No thanks. I’ve seen this idea before, but never implemented in sims. Just think we’ll see teams good good whenever their time on the wheel is up.
Braz- I’d be open to other ideas but prefer using a simulator for the real life lotto odds. I think we are so used to the current it stays.
Andy- I don't see us doing anything different when it comes to the draft. Would be cool but I doubt Spencer wants to change things around too much overall.
3. Should Spencer throw some curveballs into the 2000 draft (someone enters early, someone from this draft class suddenly stays one more season in college/abroad, etc) because of how absolutely terrible it is?
Sargo- Yes. I’ve been hoping he would do this to start. We should have seen it with the last few drafts and in 1999. Mix it up a year up or down for some guys.
Braz- I’d love to see more player stipulations overall. Maybe the 2000 draft is where to test them. I like a player staying back but this class is already announced. I could see oversees guys gets a year on IR. Maybe maybe just make a few random guys studs. Like superstar Deshawn born ready Stevenson or Brian Cardinal
Andy- I think because the CY is currently paused, it'll mostly stay as is. I'm sure Spencer will elevate some dudes a bit more but the need to isn't as big right now because without the CY, a team relying on the draft won't feel as awful if they didn't hit on a high pick.
4. What do you think the most important attribute is in a player, if we're NOT looking specifically at any one position in particular? Scoring? Rebounding? Not turning it over?
Sargo- Great question. Feel like it’s tough to pick one attribute, but I’d go with handling regardless of the position. Can’t have a team giving up the ball a lot.
Braz- Blocking, inside scoring and jump shot for me.
Andy- I'll go rebounding and jump shot. I think teams that rebound well typically tend to do well overall. It's very important to rebound the ball. Jump shooting is also something that is important throughout the different positions. I think with the other ratings, it can vary on importance depending on position.
5. What do you guys normally set your trap and press settings at, and why? (This is me cheating because I've never, ever, EVER understood trap and press and so it's a cheap way for me to get more info on it)
Sargo- Normal, Normal usually. Sometimes I’ll get risky and do Often. We keep it simple in CHA.
Braz- usually normal for both but if I feel I got athletic bigs I’ll trap more. If I have good stealing and quick guards let me press a bit.
Andy- I usually start sometimes/sometimes and go from there. I believe trap players more of a role with frontcourt guys where press is more of a backcourt thing. It would also vary depending on the players you have. Sometimes, say, your frontcourt isn't as athletic or is really good with stocks. That would change what you ultimately will do when it comes to trapping for example.
6. Have you ever used any of the other sim engines (FBB2010, JSB, BasketballGM) and did you have a favorite of those? (I'm NOT including 2K or Live because I know a lot of us did leagues way way way back when that was the way to do a sim league)
Sargo- I downloaded FBB2010 way back when and fooled around with it but it’s way too in depth and complicated for a league. This FBB is simple. It works.
Braz- nope none whatsoever.
Andy- Na, Not really. I feel like I once used a different thing but can't remember what it was and it was a pretty quick thing.
7. Who do you think ends up winning the Super Bowl this season?
Sargo- Not the Eagles or Cowboys! Ha! The obvious choice has to be the Niners right? I think whoever wins the Texans Ravens game is going to the SB. With that, I’m picking Lamar and the Ravens to win it.
Braz- looks like ravens vs niners which would be the third year in a row the nfl logo color matched 🤣
Andy- Fuck Dak Prescott. I don't know. I guess KC Vs 49ers.
8. Who finishes better this season- the Yankees or the Mets? And why?
Sargo- This shouldn’t even be a question. The Yankees. The Mets rotation is complete ass and they pretty much are punting to 2025 when they are expected to be big spenders. The Yankees added Soto and will major chips to acquire another starter at the deadline if needed. Let’s not forget they have a healthy Judge as well!
Braz- well the Yankees are trying to get better and the Mets are a dumpster fire so let’s assume the Yankees are better. Hopefully things go differently in 2025 (Editor's note- spoiler- they won't.)
