We'll be taking a look at the Western Conference side now to find some potential hidden gems and guys who could become even better players with some camping.
Rodney Rogers SF 28 6'7'' 235 B C+ C- A- B- B
Rogers has been a solid player throughout his career with averages of 13.1 points and 7 rebounds per game. Decent defender who can rebound the ball at a solid rate for a SF. Capable of some minutes at PF as well, Rogers is a good player entering the prime of his career. A team could look into signing Rogers to a long term contract this off season, especially with a +25 still remaining in camps.
616 Lorenzen Wright C 24 6'11'' 225 B- C- D+ A- B- C
The Wolves have an abundance of young talent in need of camping and development. Wright is one of the longest tenured players for the franchise who was recently extended during free agency. Maybe now the Wolves will put in the effort to improve Wright, as he'll be expected to be the defensive anchor for this team moving forward. With the necessary camps, Wright could become a guy capable of 12 rebounds and 2+ blocks per game, which would be crucial for this team considering many expect Brand to lack stock numbers.
226 Sasha Danilovic SG 29 6'5'' 200 B A- C C C- B
Another guy on the Timberwolves that they signed this off season to a team friendly 3 year, $18,000,000 contract. At 6 million annually this is a bargain for a guy capable of scoring anywhere from 15-25 ppg. When you compare him to what the Raptors gave Bodoriga, it really is great value for a guy still uncamped. He has the potential to become a B+ A scorer, and is the perfect guy to have until Vince becomes more of a weapon offensively.
Dee Brown PG 31 6'1'' 160 B B B+ A- C- C
Now Brown does already have RC camps, but with a +16 still remaining, it doesn't hurt to consider adding some more camps to him. He's signed cheap and already a starter for the Grizzlies. He's a solid player and a bit over looked, but he's versatile and can help your team. Best case scenario the scoring goes up to B+ B+ and that could add significant production to your offense. Brown and Anderson should be one of the better defensive back courts in the West this year.
Darrick Martin PG 28 5'11'' 170 C A- A+ C+ C- C
Same situation as Dee in the sense that he has already been through RCs, but has the remaining +16 available. He's a solid back up point guard who can start if need be, but it's not a bad idea to camp him out and make him an even better contributor for your team, especially in limited minutes. 6 points and 4 assists in 13 minutes is great production for your back up point guard, but with so many teams in desperate need of a starting point guard, Martin could be a temporary solution for a season or 2 until you find a considerable upgrade.
Wesley Person SG 28 6'6'' 195 B- B+ C B- C- D
Person has started for 3 straight seasons with career averages of 21.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He's entering the prime of his career and still has the full +25 remaining. You could camp his offense, defense, or a little bit both and develop him into one of the better guards in the league. He has 3 years remaining on his deal with the Clippers so they should look into throwing some camps his way.
Tom Gugliotta PF 30 6'10'' 240 B+ C+ C+ B B C
Googs is a solid offensive player with the ability to potentially play 3 different positions for your team. With a +25 still remaining, you could really turn him into a legitimate weapon for your team. He reminds me of a Christian Laettner type big in the sense of you see what Laettner became once given the camps and opportunity. He's now a 20/10 guy and I think Googs has that same ability if given the camps.
Chris Andersen C 21 6'10'' 245 B- D+ D+ B+ C+ C
Birdman might be worth investing the +25 in as he was always a popular NBA player who could block shots and fly high for you. He hasn't been able to find a consistent home yet, and the Blazers were able to snag him for mid level exception. He's young and already has above average defense. If you're content with the B- inside scoring, then you keep that as is and pour all those camps to blocks, post defense, and rebounds. You could potentially have yourself a 21 year old C with B- A- B- moving forward, and that's not a bad move. Maybe the Blazers consider this, extend that MLE a couple years and invest the development into Birdman.
Jayson Williams C 31 6'9'' 240 B- D+ D B+ B+ B
Williams has been the starting center for the Thunder for 3 seasons, and with 3 more years on his deal, it might be time to consider camping him to further improve his production. He's a decent player now, but could become an above average post presence if given the +25.
Tony Delk SG 26 6'1'' 189 C A- B- B- C- B
Another guy on the Kings who is already solid but could be even better with the +25. Like Williams, he's been with the team his entire career and has 3 years remaining on his deal as well. Delk is still only 26 years old, and could be an elite super sub at the guard positions if given the development. 8 points, 3 assists, and 2.5 rebounds in just 17 minutes last year is essentially what every team wants to see from their back up guard but Delk could potentially be a double digit scorer with more minutes.
