The issue was players contracts not GM contracts. Rookie Ray Allen got a 4 year deal and 2 picks later rookie Jason Kidd got a 3 year deal. Keeping GM CY wouldve made trades happen. But hard to trade in CY when you lose your guy(kidd for example) in FA after 3 years preach Clark |

If you don't reset, your draftees while on that probation should get 2 year deals. Prevent the 5 year tank still.
