i hate this. those guys have been whining why? they chose to tank the creation draft, which means they got three years to tank plus a prospect (prospects) from the creation draft to start.
braz was complaining about not being able to deal or having fillers, yet he dealt two of this top three creation picks and has more than 18 mil of filler
this is a massive gift to tanking teams, much bigger deal than adding a year to level out all first round contracts

i just don't see why guys building around duncan, tmac, vc, kobe, ray, chauncey etc etc need five years to compete

For me, the issue is there’s no other GMs. I suggested dropping guys after year 3 in the draft. Would be fine w that.

The only real problem is that with so many teams in cy next year that might make it harder to make cy. Of course it might not bc teams that have competed up until now might tank. Maybe just make a rule that no more than 2 or 3 teams per year can get cyd in the first cy year so on the one hand nobody will tank but on the other hand you don't have 6 guys getting cyd |

Had intention of making it this year or next so it's irrelevant to me but I mean every where you went on here people were complaining about the CY and lack of GMs if we needed to replace guys and then Spencer changes the rule and now people complaining about this. Just seems like nit picking. Maybe add some win requirements after year 3 like 35 wins or you lose a draft pick before the 5 years is up idk.

I like the idea of docking draft pick or something vs firing. Teams can be competitive after 3 yrs. We just can’t lose 4-6 GMs really |

The issue was players contracts not GM contracts. Rookie Ray Allen got a 4 year deal and 2 picks later rookie Jason Kidd got a 3 year deal. Keeping GM CY wouldve made trades happen. But hard to trade in CY when you lose your guy(kidd for example) in FA after 3 years
